Cusumano Altamora Etna Red
Cusumano Altamora Etna Red
“Alta Mora” Etna Rosso is made by the Cusumano winery starting from the pure grapes of a large native red grape variety, Nerello Mascalese. This variety is bred with the espalier and sapling method, in volcanic vineyards , located at approximately 600-800 meters above sea level, within the districts of Verzella, Pietramarina, Feudo di Mezzo and Solicchiata, in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia. Once harvested, the grapes are softly pressed and then fermented, macerating for 12 days in steel, also carrying out the malolactic fermentation. We then proceed with the aging phase, which is carried out for the duration of 6 months in large oak barrels of 25 hectolitres.
Etna Rosso “Alta Mora” develops to the eye with a color that recalls the hue of garnet, on intense and compact notes. The bouquet of perfumes that envelops the nose manifests a whirlwind of varied aromas, which veer from spicy towards fruity, also touching on aromas that recall the Mediterranean scrub. In the mouth it is medium bodied, with a elegant structure , which moves on a very enveloping velvety sip, characterized by a pleasant freshness. A bottle signed Cusumano ideal for sipping in combination with second courses based on red meat or game.
