Cusumano Alta Mora Rosé

The Etna Rosato “Alta Mora” was born on the northern side of Mongibello, where since 2013 the Cusumano winery has managed an estate and creates labels capable of best interpreting the extraordinary personality of a unique terroir in the world. A volcano of over 3,300 meters in the heart of the Mediterranean, which is home to interesting native vines and mountain viticulture a stone's throw from the sea. Rosé is the fruit of a land with strong contrasts and perfectly expresses the fresh and mineral character of Etna wines. It is a label with a delicate profile, which pairs very well with appetizers, stewed shellfish or seafood first courses.

Cusumano's Etna Rosato “Alta Mora” wine is the fruit of the desire of this important Sicilian reality to engage with the Etna territory. A new challenge for a winery that owns over 500 hectares in various areas of the island. The Nerello Mascalese grapes come from a one-hectare plot located in Contrada Solicchiata, in the municipal area of ​​Castiglione di Sicilia. The vineyard is cultivated in an altitude of 750 meters above sea level, on volcanic soils. The harvest takes place manually and is slightly anticipated, in order to preserve the fragrance of the aromas and the right freshness. The bunches are left to rest overnight at a temperature of around 10°C, before proceeding to soft pressing with brief contact with the skins. The free-run must is vinified off-white, with fermentation in steel vats at a controlled temperature. After a few months of rest in steel tanks and light filtration, the wine is ready to be bottled.

The Etna Rosato “Alta Mora”, produced on the Castiglione di Sicilia estate of the famous Cusumano brand, is a label that allows us to fully appreciate the extraordinary propensity of Nerello Mascalese for the creation of rosés of excellent quality and notable finesse. In the glass it has a pale pink colour, transparent and brilliant. Refined and elegant, it expresses a bouquet characterized by aromas of white flowers and orange blossom, aromas of citrus peel, grapefruit, raspberry, red currant, pomegranate, nuances of aromatic herbs and iodine hints. On the palate it is clear, savory and fragrant , with a harmonious sip, which closes on pleasantly refreshing sensations.
